The Relationship Between Air Quality, Polluting Molecules and Cancer-Causing Mutations

Conference Hall of Ankara University European Community Research and Application Center (Ankara, Türkiye)
2 October 2024, 12:30 - 17:30

Air Pollution, Cancer and Health will be Discussed at AnkaTheraHub

World Health Organization statistics show that twenty percent of lung cancer cases occur in individuals who do not have a tobacco habit and that environmental factors trigger the majority of these cases. Environmental pollution, which threatens human health due to the accumulation of harmful molecules and toxic substances, is especially encountered as air quality problems in our cities, and scientific research conducted in recent years has shown that some of these pollutant molecules also cause cancer-causing mutations in mammalian cells. Considering this scientific information, we aim to come together at AnkaTheraHub to discuss the relationship between air quality and cancer and work together on the relationships between cancer-causing mechanisms and air quality.

Our event will address the relationship between air quality, polluting molecules and cancer-causing mutations, will be held on October 02, 2024 at 12.30 at the Conference Hall of Ankara University European Community Research and Application Center (Ankara, Türkiye).

Under the leadership of the Center Director Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut and Bristol University Chemistry School Professor Dr. Dudley Shallcross, the scientific meeting will kick off with presentations that evaluate molecular pollution, health problems, and air quality factors. This event is a golden opportunity for local and foreign academic researchers, as well as local and central government experts, to forge future scientific partnerships and exchange valuable proposals.

To participate in the event, please fill out the registration form below. Participation in the meetings is free of charge, but registration is required.
