AnkaTheraHub’s 2nd Scientific Meeting was held online about Pre-Clinical Studies in Theranostics

The second event in the Scientific Meetings series organized by AnkaTheraHub, was held on September 25, 2024, in collaboration with the Turkish Society of Nuclear Medicine. The meeting, titled Pre-Clinical Studies in Theranostics, brought together 141 experts and researchers in the field. Chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Soydal from the Ankara University Medical Faculty, Department of Nuclear Medicine, the online event commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Dr. Nuriye Özlem Küçük, a faculty member from the same department.

In the first session, the AnkaTheraHub Director Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut introduced the center and shared information about its activities. Then, Prof. Dr. F. Zümrüt B. Müftüler from Ege University, Institute of Nuclear Sciences, Department of Nuclear Applications, gave a presentation titled Development of Radiolabeled Compounds and Their Preclinical Determinations.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thuy Tran, Act. Acting Head at Theranostics Trial Center, Karolinska University Hospital, Department of Nuclear Medicine and Medical Physics, provided insights on Preclinical Imaging Studies using New Radiopharmaceuticals. Then, Dr. Lucas Greifenstein, Head of Radiochemistry at Curanosticum, captured the audience’s attention with his presentation From Bench to Bedside: Key Considerations in Developing a New Radiopharmaceutical.

After the break, Altar Özbıyık, a PhD student from Koç University’s Institute of Sciences and Engineering, presented Micro-Irradiation of Animals. In the final session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Şerif Aydın from Istanbul Medipol University’s, Regenerative and Restorative Medicine Research Center (REMER), delivered a talk on In vivo Imaging – Fluorescence Imaging.

Throughout the meeting, the presentations provided valuable insights into the latest developments in the field of theranostics, offering highly beneficial information for researchers. During the question-and-answer sessions following each presentation, participants actively engaged with leading experts in the field, contributing to an in-depth discussion. This interactive environment fostered knowledge exchange among researchers and created a productive scientific platform.
