AI Applications in Cancer Research on AnkaTheraHub’s Agenda

AnkaTheraHub will hold its 8th Scientific Meeting under the theme “AI Applications in Cancer Research”, focusing on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence in the field of oncology.

The event will take place on 9 December 2025 (12:30–16:15) at Ankara University 50th Year Conference Hall, bringing together academics, researchers, and healthcare professionals to discuss innovative AI-driven solutions in medical imaging, pathology, and digital histopathology. Participants will have the opportunity to gain up-to-date insights from experts on how AI contributes to accuracy, speed, and personalized medicine in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The opening speech will be delivered by Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, Director of AnkaTheraHub. During the program, Prof. Luís Martí Bonmatí from La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia will present on the essential role of EUCAIM (European Federation for Cancer Images), an initiative that aims to integrate cancer imaging data across Europe to advance AI-based research. Following this, Prof. Dr. İlknur Türkmen from Medipol University will share current examples of AI applications in pathology, and Prof. Dr. Gözde Bozdağı Akar from Middle East Technical University will focus on the use of AI in tumor grading within digital histopathology images. The meeting will conclude with a panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by Dr. Tutku Ünver Aktulga, Head of AI and Bioinformatics Unit at AnkaTheraHub.
