AnkaTheraHub Holds First Scientific Meeting on NGS and Translational Medicine in Cancer

AnkaTheraHub successfully held its first scientific meeting on Wednesday, June 26th, focusing on “NGS and Translational Medicine in Cancer.” The hybrid event, held both online via Zoom and in-person at Ankara University’s Cebeci Campus, brought together leading experts and researchers to discuss the latest advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The opening session was led by Dr. Pascal Kahlem, Team Leader of the AnkaTheraHub Project. Following the welcome remarks, Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, AnkaTheraHub Director, provided a comprehensive introduction to the center’s mission and capabilities.

The keynote address on “Cancer Genomics with Translational Medicine Perspective in Cancer” was delivered by Prof. Dr. Marie-Laure Yaspo of Alacris Theranostics. Her presentation explored the integration of genomic data into clinical practice for personalized cancer care.

Prof. Dr. İrfan Çiçin, from the İstinye University Clinical Research Center, then shed light on the role of genomics in clinical research, highlighting its importance in developing new cancer therapies. A dedicated Q&A session followed, allowing participants to engage with the speakers and delve deeper into the discussed topics.

The event concluded with closing remarks, solidifying AnkaTheraHub’s commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the fight against cancer.
