Shaping the Future of Cancer with DNA Nanotechnology: AnkaTheraHub Held Its 6th Scientific Meeting
The 6th Scientific Meeting organized by AnkaTheraHub was held online on May 8, 2025, bringing together key actors from the fields of health and scientific research. Themed “Breaking Boundaries: DNA Nanotech, Nanotoxicology, and Tissue Engineering for Cancer Innovation” the meeting welcomed a total of 97 participants from public institutions, universities, and pharmaceutical companies.
The event was moderated by Prof. Dr. İsmail Öçsoy from Erciyes University. The opening speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hakan Akbulut, Director of AnkaTheraHub, who shared the center’s vision and contributions to the scientific ecosystem.
The first presentation was given by Prof. Dr. Da Han from the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and adjunct professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His talk, titled “DNA Nanotechnology for Cancer Diagnostics and Therapeutics” explored current approaches and applications in the field.
Next, Prof. Dr. Ren Cai from Hunan University in China delivered a presentation titled “Novel Analytical Approaches for the Highly Sensitive Detection of Cancer Biomarkers,” highlighting technological advancements in diagnostic processes.
After a short break, Prof. Dr. İsmail Öçsoy returned as a speaker with a presentation titled “Potential Use of Nanoparticles in Cancer and Nano-Paradox on Nanotoxicology,” offering a comprehensive perspective on nanoparticle applications and their implications.
The fourth presentation of the day was given by Dr. Gözde Eke from Ahi Evran University. Her talk, “Generation of Microtissues Through Nanobiotechnology for Regenerative Medicine and Cancer Research” focused on innovative applications of tissue engineering in the health sciences.
The event concluded with a Discussion & Q&A session where participants shared comments and posed questions directly to the speakers.
This event once again demonstrated AnkaTheraHub’s role in advancing healthcare innovation and served as a bridge between academia, public institutions, and the private sector. The meeting received high interest and paved the way for new collaborations.
