Stakeholders of AnkaTheraHub met at the 2nd Steering Commiteee Meeting

The latest developments in the endeavor to establish the Ankara Innovative Theranostics Development Center were discussed at the Second Steering Committee Meeting held at the Rectorate of the University of Ankara on 5 March 2024, chaired by Prof. Hakan Akbulut with the stakeholder institution representatives’ participation.

Prof. Akbulut summarized the project’s objective of creating a hub for developing cutting-edge diagnostic and treatment solutions for cancer and infectious diseases. With a budget of 13.8 million Euros, allocated primarily to infrastructure and technical support, the project aims to support the healthcare sector, particularly in product development and manufacturing infrastructure. It aims to bring in particular a panel of accredited services for clinical studies in Türkiye.

TA Project’s Team Leader Dr. Pascal Kahlem provided updates on the implementation of the IPA project, highlighting significant milestones achieved during its 9th month. Notably, efforts under Activity A.1 focused on identifying and prioritizing SMEs in the healthcare sector, with 97 companies selected for further analysis. After a deep study of the Spanish, German and Turkish health sectors, tThe Benchmarking Study identified nine technology centers across Europe as potential models for AnkaTheraHub, underscoring the importance of strategic partnerships in the project’s success.

After the discussion with all parties, agreements were made during the meeting to ensure the timely establishment of AnkaTheraHuband to implement the project successfully. These agreements reflect the collaborative nature of the initiative, aiming to leverage expertise and resources from various stakeholders to ensure the success and sustainability of the AnkaTheraHub Center.
