Who we are

A technological center driving theranostics innovation

Ankara Innovative Theranostics Development Center is a new technology center established in the heart of Ankara, gathering cutting-edge technologies enabling the production and test & analysis of diagnostic and therapeutic products by the healthcare industry in the fields of cancer and infectious diseases.

The center comprises ten state-of-the-art technological facilities that are

(1) Cell Unit
(2) Proteomics Unit
(3) Genomics Unit
(4) Pathology Unit
(5) Imaging Unit
(6) Antibody/Peptide Unit
(7) Nanoparticle Unit
(8) Upstream/Downstream Processes Unit
(9) Bioinformatics/Artificial Intelligence Unit
(10) Preclinical/Clinical Research Unit

Each of these units plays a critical role in the product development process, thus ensuring that all aspects of theranostic product development are effectively covered.

AnkaTheraHub also includes incubator unit that hosts selected SMEs in the field of cancer and infectious diseases.

Our Governance Model

AnkaTheraHub is financed within the framework of the financial cooperation of the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye and implemented under the Competitive Sectors Programme of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. It is coordinated and executed by Ankara University Cancer Research Institute.

  • A.U. Technology Transfer Office

    Ankara University Technology Transfer Office is established within the structure of Ankara University Technopolis. Since 2015, it’s been supported by TUBITAK, serving to academicians, researchers, students and Technopolis firms with an integrated information system. Its main aim is to increase international competition by commercializing technological products and ensuring the efficiency of intellectual property rights with research and development activities.

  • A.U. Faculty of Medicine

    Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, as the first established Faculty of Medicine of the Republic of Türkiye, has developed fast and became the leader in terms of medical education and health service in Türkiye in a very short period. Furthermore, Ankara University School of Medicine has made a great worldwide contribution to science through medical research programmes. Currently, it has 43 well established science departments and serves in three campuses at the heart of the country.

  • A.U. Institute of Biotechnology

    Ankara University Biotechnology Institute is the first interdisciplinary postgraduate biotechnology education institute of Türkiye and was established with the aim of training the experts needed in the field of biotechnology. It also aims to create a research infrastructure for the development of new product production, service and diagnostic technologies using biotechnological techniques and biological systems, and to establish a university-based biotechnology industry.

  • SEIS – Health Industry Employers’ Association of Turkey

    Turkish Health Industry Employers’ Union was established in Ankara to support the development of companies serving in the Medical Device sector in an efficient and sustainable environment of progress and to represent the sector in determining national health policies. It is a nationwide employer union established by the provisions of the Trade Unions Law, to which companies in the Health Industry field can become members as employers.

    Ankara Development Agency carries out pioneering activities for the sustainable development of Ankara.     Turkish Society of Medical Oncology is one of the most important organizations specialized in a field in Türkiye with experience and nationwide representation and it has wide connection with other international and national organizations. It is a major player in various training activities and research in oncology. All of the medical oncologists are members of the society. The society is an excellent source of reference and support between the other oncology-based societies not only for its members but also for its multidisciplinary organizations and educational courses.

  • OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster

    OSTİM Medical Industry Cluster is the organized cluster of horizontally/vertically connected businesses and supporting institutional structures (such as universities, chambers, sectoral organizations, relevant public institutions) operating in the same sector in a certain geographical region. The aim of clustering activities, managed by all relevant institutions with equal representation and common sense, on an infrastructure created in line with common strategies, is to increase the market share in the sector through joint competition.

    TTGV aims to support the international competitiveness of the private sector by improving its technology development competence, and developing and implementing models.
